Bibliography

It was found in 1959 on the Acropolis and has been mended from four fragments. The foot is low, the body wide and the rim inset to receive a lid. Right below the rim is formed a broad and deep groove where the handles also adjust. The inside of the vessel retains reddish paint and fire traces are preserved all over the surface.

Grills were used for cooking meat on spits the ends of which stood on the vessel’s mouth.
